Biography
2020-21
Daniels was a force to be reckoned with one again, although he split the scoring load a little more evenly with Parker Hicks this time around. Starting in all 21 games and leading the team with 33.8 minutes per game, he averaged 15.7 points per game on an incredibly efficient 60.3 field-goal percentage, including 57.1 percent from behind the arc and 75.6 percent from the free throw line. He scored his season-high 31 points at the most opportune time, doing so on 2/27 at West Texas A&M to lead the Chaps past the Buffs and to the Lone Star Conference Championship in the last game of the season. Daniels also pulled down 61 rebounds and racked up 60 assists on the way to his second-straight All-LSC First Team selection. He capped off the historic LCU season with a selection to the National Association of Basketball Coaches All-District Team.
2019-20
The leading scorer for the Chaps during his junior season, Daniels averaged 16.2 points per game in a team-leading 35 minutes per game on the floor. His scoring averaged ranked 11th-best in the Lone Star Conference. The New Jersey native shot 54.8 percent from the field (172-314) for the year, which was the third-highest mark in the LSC and the best percentage by a guard. He also hit 48 percent of his three-point attempts and 85 percent from the free throw line, including a 12-12 performance from the line on 1/30 against Texas A&M-Commerce. He reached double-figures 22 times and led LCU in scoring in 12 games, including a season-high 34 points in the 1/30 win against TAMUC. Daniels earned LSC Offensive Player of the week in back-to-back weeks (1/27 & 2/3), and he was named to the All-Conference First Team for his performance during the season.
Prior to LCU
Murray State College- Played for coaches Kevin O'Connor, Joel Plummer and Andrew Poulter, leading the team with 18.1 points per game while averaging 4.3 assists and 5.0 rebounds a game as a sophomore. Daniels is majoring in Sport Management with plans to play professionally after college before becoming a sports agent or basketball coach.
Colts Neck H.S. - Daniels played under legendary coach Lou Piccola and led his team to it's first and only State Championship. Daniels averaged 21 points, five assists and six rebounds to be named the State Tournament Most Valuable Player. In one game, he racked up 14 assists, setting a Colts Neck H.S. record. He was an All-Conference First Team Selection and the Player of the Year in the B North Division, as well as a First Team All-District pick. After the season, he played in the New Jersey State All-Star Game.
