2020-21
Hicks was an NABC All-American, becoming the program's first player to reach All-American status in the NCAA D-II era. He was also an NABC All-District Selection, Lone Star Conference Player of the Year and an All-LSC First Team member. The Decatur native averaged 16.9 points and 7.3 rebounds per game, leading the team in both categories. He shot 53.3 percent from the field, including 45.2 percent from behind the arc. Hicks surpassed the 20-point mark in seven different games, scoring a season-high against Angelo State on 1/16. He also scored 26 points against West Texas A&M on 2/27 as LCU beat the Buffs on the road in the last game of the season to claim the LSC Championship. 

2019-20
A Second Team All-Conference selection, Hicks averaged 14.0 points per game during his junior season. He was Lubbock Christian's leading three-point shooter, hitting from behind the arc 80 times on 45.5 percent shooting, with his percentage leading the Lone Star Conference among qualified players. Hicks was also the Chaps' top rebounder for the season, pulling down 6.9 boards per game. He scored in double figures 23 times during the year, including a season-high of 27 points, which he reached twice. 

Prior to LCU
Texas Tech - Hicks played under coach Chris Beard for two years, playing on a team that won two Hall of Fame Classic Tournaments, a Big 12 Conference Championship and was the National Runner-Up in 2019. Played in nine games as a freshman and 16 as a sophomore for the Red Raiders. 

Decatur H.S. - A three-time All-Region selection and two-time District 9-4A Most Valuable Player, Hicks averaged 31.2 points 10.2 rebounds and 1.6 steals per game in his senior season. He led Decatur to a share of the District Title and then on a run all the way to the Class 4A Region II quarterfinals.
