Yusnier Borrego MAT, LAT, ATC

Yusnier Borrego, a native of Miami, Florida, joined the LCU athletic training staff July 2021. He took over the Director of Sports Medicine position in October 2023. He received his Bachelor’s in Physical Education from Florida International University and his Master’s in Athletic Training from Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center.  

Yusnier previously worked with the Boston Red Sox organization in the Dominican Republic and for the Milwaukee Brewers organization in Phoenix, Arizona. He most recently worked at Wayland Baptist University with the soccer and baseball programs. He is board certified by the National Athletic Trainers Association and licensed by State of Texas. 
 
Yusnier is married to his wife Jackie and the couple have a daughter, Georgia and son, Ozzy.
