Alvarado joined the LCU coaching staff, prior to the 2022 season, after spending three seasons as the boy’s soccer head coach at Beaumont, Texas based Monsignor Kelly Catholic High School. In 2020-21, Alvarado led the Kelly Catholic Bulldogs soccer team to their first Division I 6A TAPPS State Championship where they beat nationally ranked Central Catholic (San Antonio, Texas) on their way to the state final championship victory over John Paul II (Plano, Texas). The La Ceiba, Honduras native also served as the youth academy boy’s director of coaching for the Houston Dynamo – Dash Youth Soccer Club’s Beaumont program from 2018-2022. He instructed the club to a new level of recognition, qualifying a team to the Presidents Cup regional finals, where they were one game away from the national tournament. Alvarado played college soccer at East Texas Baptist, where he helped the team claim a conference tournament in berth in 2013. From 2014-2016 Alvarado played professional indoor soccer in Beaumont for Texas Strikers and Oxford City FC of Texas. Alvarado currently holds his National Youth License and works with FCD West Texas and assists with the Red Raiders Academy at Texas Tech. He and his wife Carolina Olvera reside in Lubbock.
