Lubbock Christian University Head Men's Soccer Coach
Paul Gilbert added Yuriy Sadula to his coaching staff in July of 2019.
Sadula is a recent graduate of the Chaparrals, spending time on the back line from 2014 to 2018 (redshirt season in 2015). During his four seasons with the team, Sadula played in 68 games as a defender. He is the Lubbock Christian all-time leader in games started with 66 and minutes played with 5,807. The Chaps never allowed more than two goals against per game during his time on the back line, including a goals against average of just 1.11 during the 2018 season. He also scored one goal and assisted two others during his collegiate career.
"I am so excited to welcome Yuriy to our staff," Gilbert said. "He was the first player I met with when I took the job here at LCU. He knows our program as well as anyone. He was an obvious choice to bring on staff. I believe that Yuriy's temperament, maturity and love for the game will make him a fantastic coach."
As an amateur, Sadula also saw playing time with the Midland-Odessa Sockers and Corinthians FC of San Antonio, both of which compete in the National Premier Soccer League. Outside of playing, he has also seen time as a coach for the FC Dallas West Texas 04Band 06B youth teams.
"Yuriy obviously played at a very high level during his time here at LCU and grew as our captain and leader," Gilbert added. "I think he will be an asset to have on staff – someone for our players to look up to and connect with. He has already made an impact this summer, and I cannot wait to see what the future holds for him as he begins his coaching career."
Sadula came to Lubbock Christian from London, England, but is originally from Ukraine. He played in the youth system of Ryan FC in the London suburban district of Chingford, where he was named the team's Player of the Year once. He also spent time in Lithuania, playing in FK Siauliai's youth system.
