Boyd opened the season with a third place finish in the 400-meter run at the Corky Classic with a time of 49.65 seconds. He then set a personal best in the 60-meter run at the Rumble in the Jungle with an eighth place finish and a time of 6.95 seconds. Recorded seven total top-10 finishes during the indoor season, including a seventh place finish at the LSC Indoor Championships in the 200-meter run. Boyd began the outdoor season with a personal best time of 48.37 in the 400-meter run at the WT Spring Break Classic, finishing fifth. He also finished fourth in the 200-meter run at the event. Boyd was a member of the men's 4x100 meter relay team of Trael Robertson, Julian Serna and Drake Holifield that won the event championship at The Open with a time of 41.76 seconds. Finished third in the 200-meter run at the Ross Black Open with a time of 21.40 seconds. He closed the outdoor season with a sixth place finish at the Lone Star Conference Outdoor Championships in the 200-meter run with a time of 21.52 seconds.Â

Boyd plans to major in nursing while at Lubbock Christian.
