Lubbock Christian University Athletics

Welborn enters her second year as an assistant coach with the LCU softball program where her main focus will be working with the infielders. She comes to Lubbock from Tarleton State University where she received her bachelor’s degree in kinesiology and was a standout catcher for the TexAnns. During her two-year tenure at TSU, the North Richland Hills native was an NFCA All-American, Louisville Slugger National Player of the Week and two-time All-Lone Star Conference selection.

Prior to her time at Tarleton, Welborn spent two years at North Central Texas College in Gainesville where she helped lead the Lions to their first ever national tournament appearance in 2009 while earning All-Region and All-Conference accolades. Welborn has the second-highest slugging percentage in NCTC history.

She currently resides in Lubbock and is working on her graduate degree in Health Exercise and Sports.
