Junior Season - LCU

Mendez would find herself as the ace of the Lady Chaps pitching rotation.  She appeared in 30 games as a pitcher and would finish 22-1 on the season with five saves and a 1.20 ERA while striking out 212.  As a batter Sarah hit .394 with six home runs and 54 RBI.  She ranked in the top five in four different pitching categories for opponents batting average (.145), hits allowed per 9 (4.50), batters struck out per 9 (12.55), and saves (5).  Notable season highs include three five RBI games and striking out 16 batters against Waldorf (Iowa).

Sophmore Season - Navarro College

Sarah would finish her JUCO career appearing in 54 games with a 0.87 ERA while going 25-2 during the season and sitting down 258 batters which was third most in the NJCAA.  She went .542 at the plate with 12 home runs and driving in 94 runners.

Freshman Season - Navarro College

Mendez would make her college debut appearing in 53 games accumulating a 9-2 record with a 1.07 ERA and striking out 104.  When hitting, Sarah went .503 at the plate with 55 RBI and five home runs.

High School

As a senior, Mendez finished 18-6 with a 0.27 ERA and 485 strikeouts in just over 205 innings of work.  At the plate she hit .378 and was co-MVP in District 6-4A and all-state selection..  During a state semifinal game she struck out 17 which was five short of the 4A state tournament record.
