Chris Due has been with the LCU Athletic Department since December of 2007. Due is an alum of Oklahoma Christian University where he received a BS emphasizing in Mass Communications - Radio/TV, with additional emphasis in Kinesiology and Bible. He attended OC from 1994-1998 and left without finishing his degree, like an athlete being pulled to the pro-level, as he received an opportunity to broadcast professional hockey in Fresno, California. Due had been working in pro sports while at OC, spending the summers working professional roller hockey (Oklahoma Coyotes - RHI) and minor league baseball (Alexandria Aces in Alexandria, LA.). He also oversaw OC's KOCC student-operated radio station and served as the sports director, broadcasting various collegiate athletic events.
After a season in California, it was time for the Fort Worth, Texas native to move closer to home and Lubbock became his home in 1999, as Chris accepted a position with the Lubbock Cotton Kings hockey organization. He spent four seasons with the Cotton Kings serving as their Dir. of Broadcasting and Media Relations, and he was also able to take classes at LCU to complete his OC degree. In 2003, Chris made a move to South Texas and spent two years in the McAllen - Harlingen area to work with the Rio Grande Valley Killer Bees (hockey) and the Dorados (arena football), who were each operated under the same umbrella. Due returned to Lubbock in 2005 and spent two seasons back with the Cotton Kings. Due also worked with the Lubbock Renegades arena football team.
Along with his LCU duties, Due serves on various college athletic committees, serving on national ranking committee for the D2SIDA Women's Basketball Top-25 Poll, national player of the week committee for the USBWA (women's basketball) and NCBWA (baseball) and regional committees for D2CCA All-Region (women's basketball), D2SIDA women's basketball regional rankings and NCBWA baseball regional rankings. He is actively involved in CoSIDA and served two years as the chair of the Lone Star Conference SIDs.
Due has served on a freelance basis with many regional and international sports organizations. He has served and continues to serve in on-field game operations with the UIL Texas Football Championships and Red River Rivalry football events. Internationally, Due has served as a press box coordinator for The Football Association (The FA) World Cup tune-up friendly soccer matches in Miami (England vs. Honduras), social media coordinator for Team Canada in the 2015 and 2017 IIHF World Jr. Championships and as a Press Officer for USA Baseball, where one of his proudest moments was serving with USA's 12-U PanAmerican Championship in Aguascalientes, Mexico (2017).
When not at "The Rip," Due can usually be found exploring the best food options or attending sporting events involving his son Major (18) and Calgary (14). He also enjoys broadcasting and officiating area high school sporting events.
