Posted a collegiate best 5K time of 20:07.5 at the Texas Tech Open to begin the season. Then at the Heartland Conference Championships, Lackey posted her personal best 6K time of 23:44.7 to place 29th individually.

Ran the 800m and the mile at two early season meets before competing in the mile and the distance medley relay at the LSC Indoor Championships. There, she posted a collegiate best mile time of 5:33.57 to place 10th and helped the relay team to a seventh place finish. During outdoor season, Lackey ran the 800-meter and 1500-meter, placing 15th in the latter with a time of 5:11.64 at the LSC Outdoor Championships. 

2017-18

Ran at five meets during the season. At the Heartland Conference Championships, Lackey placed 34th with a 6K time of 24:53.2. She then recorded a time of 25:10.6 at the South Central Regional Championships.

Competed in the 800-meter, the mile, the distance medley relay and on a 4X400-meter relay team during indoor season. Ran all but the 800-meter at the LSC Indoor Championships, placing 14th in the mile (5:39.82), seventh in the 4X400 (4:22.82) and seventh in the distance medley relay (13:54.11). Ran the 800m and the 1500m during outdoor season, posting collegiate bests in both events at the LSC Outdoor Championships with a 2:25.81 in the 800 and a 5:04.92 in the 1500.
