Derek Drube was named the jump’s coach for the Lubbock Christian University Track & Field program on Thursday, Dec. 15, 2022.
Before LCU:
A native of Washington state, Drube has been coaching track and field since 2003. In 2014 he was hired as the horizontal jumps at Lake Stevens High School, one of top 4A track programs in Washington State. In his eight years there he helped produce four boys WESCO district titles (2015, 2017-19) and four girls WESCO district titles (2016-19). He also helped place their girls team place eighth in 2017 and 2nd in 2019 at the state meet. He was able to create a very successful jumpers program with seven league champions, five district champions, nine state competitors, and three state placers.

Personal Life:
Drube currently holds a Bachelor's Degree in Elementary Education with an endorsement in Math and Science and a Master’s Degree in Curriculum and Instruction. He teaches at a local ISD in Lubbock. Drube and his wife Kelli have been married since 2010. They have 2 girls and are excited to be a permanent fixture in Lubbock for many years to come.
