Michal Giboney was named assistant coach prior to the 2021 season, marking the return of a former Lady Chaparrals spiker.
 
Michal, the wife of Keith Giboney, played volleyball at LCU from 1990-93 (under head coach Dave Carter) and was the program's career digs leader when she graduated (1,677, which currently ranks eighth in program history). The Academic All-America selection was a right side hitter and setter, and was a teammate of former LCU volleyball head coach Jennifer Lawrence.
 
She joined the staff after 12 years coaching at the club level. The Cloudcroft, N.M. native helped start the volleyball program at Lubbock Cooper High School, where she coached one season (1994) and then headed to Lubbock Christian High School. Making the move to Searcy, Ark. alongside Keith, she joined his staff at Harding University before starting the volleyball program at Harding Academy in 2008. She coached at Harding Academy five seasons (2008-12), winning an Arkansas 3A state title in 2011. In three varsity seasons, she compiled an overall record of 81-12 and a conference record of 42-2.
 
Michal graduated from LCU in 1994 and completed her Master's Degree at Harding in 2001. Her and Keith are the parents of two daughters: Emily and Abbey.
