SILVER CITY, N.M. - In February of 1989, it took freshman Britt Bonneau only 11 games to record what more than 200 Chaps had attempted through 1,236 games: hit for the cycle.
And what's amazing about the feat is that it really took only three innings to accomplish. The Carrollton, Texas product was 0-for-1 with a walk February 20 against Western New Mexico when he sparked a comeback from a 12-1 deficit.
He singled in the fifth, added a triple and a home run in an 11-run sixth frame and finished off the cycle with a two-out double in the seventh as the Chaps won 19-16 on the road
