LUBBOCK, Texas (October 20, 2014) – For the first time since 2010, Lubbock Christian University has a pair of players with at least 10 goals on the season, as Claudia Sanchez netted her 10th goal of the sea-son and goalkeeper Lauren Story recorded her sixth shutout of the season to lead the Lady Chaparrals to a 2-0 victory over Newman University Monday in Heartland Conference action at LCU Soccer Field. The win was the seventh consecutive win for the Lady Chaps, who remain perfect (5-0-0) in conference play.

Sanchez's goal came in 37th minute of the game and it extended her goal scoring streak to six consecu-tive games. The freshman's goal would stand as the game winning goal for her second game winner of the season. LCU, leading 1-0 at the half, would tally an insurance marker in the 59th minute. Sanchez and Brooke Wendl assisted in the marker, setting up Ashley Ledford for her third goal of the season.

Newman was unable to gather any offense in the second half and was outshot 8-2 in the final 45 minutes. LCU had a 14-7 advantage in shots (Sanchez produced five of LCU's shots) and a 5-3 advantage in shots on goal.
