Chaps Finally Back on The Pitch... At UTPB Thursday Night

Lubbock Christian University (1-3-0) at University of Texas of the Permian Basin (1-3-1)
5:00 PM – September 25, 2014 – UTPB Soccer Field (Odessa, Texas)
LIVE SCORING

ODESSA, Texas (September 25, 2014) – The Lubbock Christian University Chaparrals travel south to face Heartland Conference foe Texas-Permian Basin, but the game scheduled for 5 p.m. Thursday is a non-conference tilt.

CHAPS FLIGHT DECK
•    The Lubbock Christian University Chaparrals are 1-3-0 on the season after falling 4-0 on the road at Midwestern State on Sept. 15.
•     The Chaparrals are 0-1-0 in true road games this season (LCU went 1-1-0 in a pair of neutral site games this season).
•     LCU is 20-13-5 all-time in road games.

STORY LINES
•    The Chaparrals snapped a five-game road win streak on Sept. 15 in their last game (4-0 loss at Midwestern State).
•    Mother Nature has played a big factor much of this season. LCU has yet to play on their own home field. They have had one game at home and weather forced the game to be played at Texas Tech's John Walker Complex. LCU was scheduled to play at home Saturday against Bethany, Okla. based Southwestern Christian University, but weather and unplayable conditions led to the game's cancellation.
•    LCU has not played a game since Sept. 15. The Chaps and Oklahoma Christian have played the least (4) amount of games amongst conference squads. Newman leads conference programs in games played with seven.
•    Looking back at LCU's 4-0 loss on Sept.15, the loss was LCU's first road shutout loss since Nov. 3, 2012 (at Wayland Baptist) and the four-goal loss differential was LCU's worse since falling 4-0 on Nov. 10, 2011 (at University of Science & Arts of Oklahoma).
•    LCU has been out-shot 85-55 this season, but they are nearly even when it comes to shots on goal (28-29). LCU has a .509 percent mark of shots on target compared to a .341 mark by the opposition.
•    Each of LCU's four goals have been tallied by four different individuals. Darius Strambler, one of the four individuals, has nine shots on the season and has placed eight on target (88.9%).

SCOUTING UTPB
•    The Falcons are 1-3-1 this season after a 3-0 loss to Texas A&M International in a non-conference meeting.
•    UTPB is 0-2-1 at home this season.  The meeting is one of four consecutive home games for UTPB.
•    The Heartland Conference preseason poll had UTPB ranked sixth in the conference following an 8-9-1 season last year.
•    Nathan Cotterell and Gary Willis each have two goals, making up all the offensive production for the Falcons.
•    UTPB has been out-shot 26-8 in shots on goals in the first half of games this season.

SERIES HISTORY WITH UTPB
•    LCU has a 2-0-0 all-time series advantage over UTPB
•    Like this season, LCU and UTPB were scheduled for a non-conference and conference game last season. LCU won both contests 3-0.
•    The Chaps have a 180-minute active shutout sequence in the series.
