HOW IT HAPPENED• Omoregie recorded LCU's earliest goal of the season, scoring 2:22 into the game off a header from a cross delivered by Fogarty-Cameron.
• Fogarty-Cameron was the recipient of a goal in the 23
rd minute, as
Mitchell Hopkins and Omoregie manufactured the passing to help Fogarty-Cameron notch his team-co-leading fifth goal of the season.
• Putnam stopped four of the Greyhounds five shots on goal, as the defense was there for a team save to preserve LCU's first shutout of the season.
GAME NOTES• The Chaps win ended LCU's four-game winless streak, which had matched a program high.
• Omoregie's goal was his first career goal. He entered the game with one point on the season (off an assist).
• The shutout was LCU's first of the season. The last recorded shutout win came on Nov. 6, 2014 against West Texas A&M (at home). LCU's last shutout on the road (non neutral site game) came on Oct. 28, 2013 at St. Edward's. It was LCU's 23
rd shutout in program history (11
th on the road) and the third under head coach
Lee Williams.
• Putnam, who made four saves, recorded his second career shutout. His last came on Sept. 7, 2014 in a neutral site contest in Hays, Kan. against Colorado State-Pueblo in his second collegiate start.
• Omoregie's goal 2:22 into the game marked just the third time this season LCU has scored the first goal of the game. LCU is 2-1-0 when scoring first.
• LCU is now 2-3-3 all-time against ENMU (1-0-1 this season). The win was LCU's second all-time against ENMU and each win has been via shutout. LCU, who claimed their first ever win in Portales, had not defeated ENMU since Sept. 7, 2010 at home.
• LCU is 3-2-0 this season in road competition. They are 8-4-0 on the road all-time under head coach
Lee Williams (4-3-0 under Williams in non-conference road games) and they are 28-16-5 all-time in road play.
INSIDE THE NUMBERS2: LCU's second goal received two assists, with Hopkins and Omoregie each providing contribution to Fogarty-Cameron's goal. It is just the second LCU goal this season to receive two assists.
