ENMU Soccer Field (Portales, N.M.)
CHAPS FLIGHT DECK• The Lubbock Christian University Chaparrals play the second game of a season-ending six-game road swing Monday at Eastern New Mexico Monday in Portales, N.M.
• The Chaps are 4-6-2 on the season and only have one win over their past nine games (1-6-2). They are coming off a 3-2 loss in Wichita, Kan. to Newman.
• LCU is 2-2-0 this season in road competition. They are 7-4-0 on the road all-time under head coach
Lee Williams (3-3-0 under Williams in non-conference road games) and they are 27-16-5 all-time in road play.
STORY LINES• LCU's current four-game winless streak matches their longest winless streak in program history and it is the second time this season they have encountered a four-game winless streak. Prior to this season, the last time LCU was winless in a four-game stretch was in October of the 2010 season.
• The Chaps have out-shot their opponent in all but two games this season. LCU leads the Heartland Conference in shots per game (20.8), which ranks fourth nationally.
• Lubbock Christian has struggled offensively over the prior 10 games. LCU scored five goals in each of their first two games, but since then, they have not been able to produce more than two goals in a game.
• The Chaps are 0-5-0 this season when scoring less than two goals.
• Thursday at Newman,
Kwame Adu-Wusu made his fourth consecutive start (in game in which he was on the active roster). Three of his goals this season have come since making his first start (Oct. 3 vs. Texas A&M International).
•
Mbongeni Ndlovu leads LCU against non-conference opponents with eight points off four goals.
SCOUTING ENMU• The Greyhounds are 4-5-2 on the season and coming off a 3-0 home win over Texas-Permian Basin on Oct. 13.
• ENMU is coming off an 7-6-3 season a year ago. They went 3-4-1 at home last season and are off to a 2-2-0 home record this season.
• Eastern New Mexico (like West Texas A&M and Midwestern State) competes independently, as the Lone Star Conference does not sponsor men's soccer. Next season, ENMU will join the Heartland Conference in men's soccer as an affiliated member.
• Roberto Zatarain leads the 'Hounds with six goals and 12 points on the season.
• Goalkeeper James Gutierrez ranks 19th in the nation in total saves with 58 on the season.
SERIES HISTORY WITH ENMU• ENMU leads the all-time series 3-1-3 against LCU and is 3-0-2 in the prior five meetings.
• LCU's lone win in the series came on Sept. 7, 2010 in Lubbock.
• The meeting is the second meeting of the season. LCU and ENMU tied 2-2 on Sept. 23 in a game played at Texas Tech due to weather. Ryan Sinclair and Gino Battiato produced goals for ENMU, while
Jacob Zapata and Fogarty-Cameron had goals for LCU in the game, which was stopped in the 70th minute because of lightning.
• The Chaps fell 5-1 to ENMU on Nov. 9, 2014 in the prior game played in Portales, N.M. between the two teams.
