CHAPS FLIGHT DECK• The Lubbock Christian University Chaparrals continue a regular season-ending six-game road trip (1-1-0 so far on the trip) Thursday at Dallas Baptist University and close the week's play Saturday afternoon at No.16 St. Edward's.
• The Chaps are 5-6-2 on the season and are seeking consecutive wins for the first time since Sept. 11 & 13th. They are coming off a 2-0 win at Eastern New Mexico Monday.
• LCU is 3-2-0 this season in road competition. They are 8-4-0 on the road all-time under head coach
Lee Williams (4-1-0 under Williams in conference road games) and they are 28-16-5 all-time in road play.
STORY LINES• LCU is seeking to end a three-game Heartland Conference losing skid. Their only conference win this season was a 2-1 home win over Texas A&M International on Oct. 3.
• The Chaps have out-shot their opponent in all but two game this season. LCU leads the Heartland Conference in shots per game (20.2), which ranks fourth nationally.
• Lubbock Christian has struggled offensively over the prior 11 games. LCU scored five goals in each of their first two games, but since then, they have not been able to produce more than two goals in a game. The Chaps are 0-5-0 this season when scoring less than two goals.
• Saturday, LCU will face No.16 St. Edward's, which will mark the third time this season LCU has played a ranked team. They are 0-1-1 against ranked teams this season (tied No.2 Midwestern State 2-2 on Oct. 5). They are 3-5-2 all-time against ranked teams and 0-1-0 all-time against teams carrying a No.16 ranking. St. Edward's was ranked No.16 last season, as LCU fell 2-1.
• LCU registered their first shutout Monday in their 2-0 win at ENMU. Their prior recorded shutout win came on Nov. 6, 2014 against West Texas A&M (at home). LCU's last shutout on the road (non neutral site game) came on Oct. 28, 2013 at St. Edward's. It was LCU's 23rd shutout in program history (11th on the road) and the third under head coach
Lee Williams.
Tristen Putnam, who made four saves in the game at ENMU, recorded his second career shutout. His last came on Sept. 7, 2014 in a neutral site contest in Hays, Kan. against Colorado State-Pueblo in his second collegiate start.
• The Chaps are 15-6-0 all-time in Heartland Conference contests and 9-1-0 all-time in Heartland Conference road games. Their last road game in conference play (Oct. 15 at Newman) marked their first Heartland Conference road loss.
SCOUTING DBU• The Patriots are 5-7-1 overall and 2-2-0 in conference this season and coming off a 7-0 loss to No.2 Midwestern State. They have lost their last three games and all are shutout losses (outscored combined 10-0).
• DBU is coming off a 3-14-1 season a year ago (0-8-0 in conference). They went 2-5-1 at home last season and have a 2-2-0 home record this season.
• The Heartland Conference selected DBU ninth in the preseason polls.
• The Pats have 14 goals on the season and a conference-leading seven have been scored by Riley Alvey.
• Alvey co-leads the conference with three game winning goals, which ranks tied for 25th nationally.
SERIES HISTORY WITH DBU• LCU leads the all-time series 2-0-0.
• Last season's meeting was also in Dallas (Nov. 3) and
Lennard Hansen's golden goal 16 seconds into overtime led LCU to a 3-2 overtime win.
