The Hilltoppers (7-18, 5-9 Heartland) jumped ahead 5-3 on a kill by Mikayla Grill, but the Lady Chaps responded with a trio of kills and a pair of blocks to take an 8-5 lead. Two SEU attack errors increased the opening to 11-6, and four straight points doubled up the lead at 14-7. A string of four LCU errors and a Hilltopper kill pulled SEU to within 17-14, but Tavo threw down two kills to spur a 5-0 Lady Chap run that led to a block and two kills to finalize the match victory.
The Lady Chaps host DBU in a three/four-seed showdown Saturday at noon.
