•
Mickey Brunton placed a set-piece into the goal area and Ramirez deflected it into the goal in the 32
nd minute to tie the contest at 1-1.
• Zimbabwe natives
Elijah Madzikatire and Ndlovu put together the eventual game winner with 5:23 left in the opening half. Madzikatire sent a brilliant cross from the right side to the left-side post to Ndlovu, who had no problem banging the ball in for the goal.
GAME NOTES• Ndlovu produced four goals in the two games played in Colorado. He entered the trip with four goals in 22 career games prior to the trip. He also recorded the game winning goal for his second of the season. Prior to Friday's game winning goal at Colorado Christian by Ndlovu, LCU had game winning goals produced by a different player in each of their prior 10 consecutive wins.
• Rios made his first collegiate start in goal for LCU. They scored on the first shot attempt they took, but he stopped the remaining three shots faced for his first collegiate victory (1-0-0). Rios was also supported by a defensive crew that was credited with blocking five ASU shots.
• The 3-0-0 start for LCU matches their 2012 season start to match the best start in the program's six-year history.
• The game was the season opener for ASU, who was seeking to end an 18-game winless streak. They were able to end a long scoreless drought, ending a scoreless sequence of 530:25 (had been shutout their prior five games dating back to last season) with Castro's goal.
• LCU is 1-0-0 all-time against ASU and 3-0-0 all-time against Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference foes.
• The Chaparrals are now 2-0-0 on the road this season, 7-2 on the road all-time under head coach
Lee Williams and 27-14-5 all-time in program history on the road.
INSIDE THE NUMBERS12 : LCU produced 12 shots on goal (ASU had four), which is the most since Oct. 13, 2014 at St. Mary's. That was also the last time LCU had an opposing goalkeeper make at least 10 saves in a game (Austin Baumeister had 10 for ASU).
