Chaps On The Road To Face No.12 Ft. Hays State

LCU Is One of 20 Teams Nationally With Perfect Record

CHAPS FLIGHT DECK
•   The Lubbock Christian University Chaparrals wrap up a three-game road trip Friday at No.12 Fort Hays State before returning home for seven straight home games.
•   The Chaps are 3-0-0 on the season, winning their first two road games in Colorado (5-1 at Colorado Christian and 2-1 at Adams State).
•   LCU is 2-0-0 this season in road competition. They are 7-2-0 on the road all-time under head coach Lee Williams and they are 27-14-5 all-time in road play.

STORY LINES
•   Mbongeni Ndlovu has been a star on the road trip thus far for LCU, as he has four goals for eight points in the two road games. He recorded his first hat trick in a 5-1 win at Colorado Christian and followed with a goal at Adams State.
•   The 3-0-0 start for LCU matches their 2012 season start to match the best start in the program's six-year history.
•   Both goalkeepers on the LCU roster (Tristan Putnam, Fernando Rios) have each made starts for the Chaps this season. Rios made his first career start at the college level in LCU's 2-1 win at Adams State for his first college win. Rios and Putnam each have three saves on the season.
•   Through two weeks of play, LCU is the only Heartland Conference program with a perfect record and they are one of three programs without a loss, joining Dallas Baptist (2-0-1) and St. Edward's (2-0-2). They are one of 20 teams nationally with a perfect record.  
•   LCU leads the Heartland Conference and ranks 10th nationally with an average of 20.67 shots a game. Lennard Hansen leads the team an the conference with 11 shots (3.67 per game).
•   The Chaps had game winning goals from 10 different players over a span of 10 consecutive wins end Friday at Colorado Christian with Ndlovu recording the game winning goal. Ndlovu now has game winning goals in two consecutive wins, as he registered the game winner Sunday at Adams State.

SCOUTING FHSU
•   The Tigers are 3-1-0 on the season and coming off a 2-1 road win at No.12 Colorado State - Pueblo Sunday.
•   FHSU is coming off an 11-6-4 season a year ago. They went 6-2-1 at home last season.  The meeting with LCU marks their home opener.
•   Fort Hays State is a NCAA Div. II member of the Mid-America Intercollegiate Athletic Association (MIAA).
•   The feature four returning All-MIAA selections (Michael Cole, David Lucio, Mauricio Castorino, and Drew Wilson) and two all-region selections (Cole and Lucio) and are coming off a third consecutive NCAA postseason appearance.
•   Maurizio Costa leads the Tigers with nine points off four goals and an assist. They also have three goals from Mauricio Castorino.

SERIES HISTORY WITH FHSU
•   No prior meetings between the two programs.
•   The Chaps are 3-4-1 all-time (0-1-0 under Williams) against ranked opponents. Their last win against a ranked foe was Oct. 28, 2013 with a win at No.13 St. Edward's.
•   LCU opened the season in 2014 with a pair of neutral site games at FHSU Soccer Field. They went 1-1-0 on the pitch last season, with LCU head coach Lee Williams claiming his first collegiate coaching win over CSU-Pueblo.
