HOW IT HAPPENED• Ledford opened the game's scoring in the 16th minute with her first goal of the season by shooting a shot from the top of the box, which beat goalkeeper Chloe Hull to her right.
• In the 49th minute, Ledford completed her three-point game assisting with Aviles' goal.
• Boone played a loose ball in the net with 23:34 remaining before Taylor Kennedy scored a pair of goals 11:26 apart to cut LCU's lead from 3-0 to 3-2.
GAME NOTES• Ledford matched a career record with three points off her goal and assist. She last produced a three-point outing on Nov. 1, 2014 against Oklahoma Christian.
• Castellano was making her third career start in goal and making her eighth appearance. She produced a career high six saves and recorded her first career win. Castellano is now 1-3-1 in her LCU career.
• LCU's three goals came from three individuals and those individuals each scored their first goal of the season. LCU now has eight different players with goals this season.
Brooke Wendl is the only player with more than one (five).
• The Lady Chaps were able to end a four-game winless streak (0-2-2), which had been their longest winless streak since closing out the 2012 season winless in their final six games (0-4-2).
• With the win, LCU improves to 2-0-1 at home this season and is now 18-6-3 all-time at home under
Alex Denning (11-3-1 all-time under Denning in non-conference home games). They are 22-14-5 all-time overall at home.
• LCU is 1-1-0 all-time against ECU and 1-1-0 all-time against Great American Conference foes.
INSIDE THE NUMBERS6-1 : The Tigers had a 6-1 advantage in corner kicks. It marks the third consecutive game an LCU opponent has had at least six corner kicks. Prior to the current three-game stretch, the last time an LCU opponent had at least six corner kicks was on Sept. 21, 2014, when East Central had six against the Lady Chaps ironically enough.
