HOW IT HAPPENED
• LCU took the opening lead after a foul led to converted penalty kick by
Jamie Boone for a 1-0 lead 2:32 into the game.
• Chelsea Martin took advantage of a loose ball off a corner kick and converted with her sixth goal of the season to tie the game for TWU. The goal came 7:36 after Boone's opening goal.
• The goalkeepers combined for 12 saves, as there was no scoring for the game's remaining 99:52.
GAME NOTES
• The game's result marked LCU's second tie of the season. LCU is now 2-6-11 all-time in games ending in overtime (0-0-2 this season).
• Boone capitalized on LCU's 14
th penalty kick in program history and their second attempt of the season, scoring the team's 13
th penalty kick goal in program history. Boone is now 3-for-3 all-time in penalty kicks for LCU.
• TWU's goal ended LCU's shutout sequence at 314:47 without allowing a goal. The LCU program record for a shutout sequence is 378:56 (2010) and the program's goalkeeper shutout sequence record is 351:51 by Kayla Wilkinson (Palmer had her shutout sequence end at 314:47).
• Palmer, who had been in goal for every second of the season, ended up leaving the game with just under a minute remaining in the first overtime. She suffered an injury and was replaced by
Leah Beikmann, who saw her first action of the season. She did not face any shots over the 10:59 of playing time.
• The Chaps are now 1-6-2 in their last nine non-conference road games.
• With the draw, LCU is 1-2-1 on the road this season and are 17-20-2 all-time on the road under head coach
Alex Denning. Overall all-time, LCU is 27-30-4 on the road.
• The meeting was the first ever meeting between the two programs, so each team has a 0-0-1 record in the all-time series.
INSIDE THE NUMBERS
13: The Lady Chaps, whistled for one foul Saturday, had a season high 13 fouls called against them. Their highest amount since receiving 19 on Oct. 15, 2011 (against Science & Arts of Okla.).
