Camille Porco, who had eight.
How It Happened
Set One
The opening set featured five lead changes, with LCU overcoming the biggest deficit at 12-7. They came back scoring 10 of the next 15 points to tie the set at 17-17. They also overcame a 19-17 deficit with a 4-0 run all on ENMU errors (an attack error, ball handling error, serving error and a reception errors). LCU closed the set on an 8-3 run to take the set 25-22. The Lady Chaps had four team blocks in the set with eight block assists.
Camille Porco had three of the block assists.
Set Two
ENMU opened the second set with a 4-0 lead before LCU responded with a 4-0 run of their own to tie the set at 4-4. An 11-5 scoring stretch for LCU helped build a 16-10 lead and they went on to claim the set 25-20.
Lauren Zoller had six kills and went without an error in the set for LCU. The Lady Chaps produced 16 kills and 27 digs in the set.
Set Three
The Greyhounds used a late 11-2 run to overcome a 20-14 deficit and top the Lady Chaps 25-22 in the set. ENMU benefitted off six kills in the set by Lauren Frye (Greyhounds had 14 kills as a team in the set) and eight LCU errors.
Set Four
ENMU led throughout in the fourth set and won the set 25-20. They led as much as 23-16 in the set, charged by eight kills from Frye. ENMU powered through the set with 18 kills and a .267 kill percentage.
Set Five
The Lady Chaps avoided a letdown in the decisive fifth set, with a 10-4 surge to start the match by LCU. They were able to match the 'Hounds the rest of the way en route to a 15-9 set win to clinch the match. Hanaway and
Christiana Tavo each had a trio of kills in the set.
Inside the Numbers:
.296 – Zoller produced a .296 kill percentage with a career high 12 kills. She completed a double-double with 13 digs.
18 – In the third set, Hanaway attempted 18 kills and delivered with seven resulting in points.
