CHAPS FLIGHT DECK
•   LCU plays their home opener and Heartland Conference opener, hosting Rogers State University.
•   The Chaparrals are 1-3-0 on the season and closed out a season-opening four-game road trip with a 1-0 shutout win at Adams State.
•   LCU is opening playing host to their seventh home opener in program history. They are 5-1-0 all-time in home openers, with the lone home opening loss coming in 2014 against Southwest (N.M.).
 
STORY LINES
•   The Chaps 1-0 win Sunday at Adams State not only marked LCU's first win of the season but also marked the first head coaching victory for LCU head coach Paul Gilbert.
•   LCU went 2-4-2 at home last season. The Chaps are 26-15-7 all-time overall at home.
•   The Chaps are 17-8-0 all-time in Heartland Conference contests and are 4-1-1 all-time in conference openers (2-1-0 in HC openers). LCU is 6-6-0 all-time in Heartland Conference home games (LCU went 1-3-0 last season at home in conference play).
•   Carrying over from last season, LCU has played 10 consecutive games away from home. Their last home game was Oct. 10, 2015 against Oklahoma Christian. The Chaps have not won at home since Oct. 3, 2015 against Texas A&M International (2-1).
•   LCU ranks 10th nationally in fouls per game, averaging a low of 7.75 fouls per game.
•   Andres Ramirez is the only Chap (non-goalkeeper) that has played all 360 minutes of the Chaps season.
 
SCOUTING RSU
•   The Hillcats are coming off a 10-5-3 mark last season in which they finished 4-2-2 in the Heartland Conference.
•   RSU, who went 4-2-2 last season on the road, is 0-0-1 on the road this season. Sunday, they played their first road game, which resulted in a 0-0 tie at No.23 Lindenwood.
•   The Heartland Conference has RSU preseason picked fifth in the conference preseason poll. This is RSU's first season with postseason eligibility. The Hillcats are 0-3-0 in Heartland Conference openers.
•   With three shutouts on the season, RSU ranks sixth nationally, shutting out their opposition in 75% of their games this season. The Hillcats have not allowed a goal in a span of 262:10 entering Thursday. They have a 0.24 GAA, which ranks seventh nationally. 
•   Jake Simpson leads the Hillcats with five points off two goals and an assist. He has 19 shots and 11 of the team's 32 shots on goal to lead each team in the category.
 
SERIES HISTORY WITH RSU
• LCU is 4-1-2 all-time against the Hillcats to lead the series.
• The two teams played last season in Wolfforth, Texas, with RSU winning 4-1 in a contest that had to be played at Frenship High School because of weather.
• LCU is 2-1-1 in the all-time series in games LCU is the home team.
