How It Happened

Set One
The Lady Chaps never trailed after the taking a 3-2 lead off a kill from Emily Hanaway. It was one of four kills in the set for Hanaway, who joined Channing Castleberry and Tavo who also each had four kills. LCU benefitted off a 12-3 run in the set for a 25-15 set win.

Set Two
LCU closed the second set with a 16-3 run, breaking a 9-9 tie to win the second set 25-12. Lupita Quintanilla served eight straight times and Kelsie French had seven straight serves during the run. LCU produced a .343 attack percentage during the set, while SWOSU was -.029 and with more errors than kills for a second straight set. Hanaway had four blocks and three kills in the set. SWOSU received five of their seven kills in the set from Carly Zak, who came in with All-Tournament honors from West Texas A&M's tournament.

Set Three
The Bulldogs opened the third set with a 4-0 lead. LCU came back to tie the set at 7-7, but SWOSU never let go of the lead until late in the set. Trailing 21-18, LCU went on a 5-0 run due to self-inflicted wounds by the Bulldogs. A pair of bad sets and attack errors by SWOSU were part of the run.
