HOW IT HAPPENED
• Aviles struck first from the far-right side of the field on a shot that took a hop over the TAMIU goalkeeper 4:24 into the match.
• Sanchez wrapped up the victory in the 56
th minute with a finish from just outside of the six-yard box.

• Lubbock Christian takes the win and moves to a 5-3-1 record in Heartland action and an 8-4-1 record overall in 2017.
• The Lady Chap's two goals mark the second time this season that LCU managed a victory without an assist.
• Lubbock Christian's defense held Heartland Conference leading goal scorer Cio Bargallo to a single shot on the day. Bargallo had scored in three of her prior five games heading into Thursday's match against LCU.
• The 2-0 victory marks the eighth shut-out of the season for Lubbock Christian keeper
Hannah Wise and the Lady Chaparral squad. The Lady Chaparrals are averaging 1.62 goals per game on offense, while holding opponents to a .62 goals per game average on the defensive end. Wise's performance is her third consecutive clean sheet.
• LCU now stands with 15 points in conference standings moving them into the third-place position. Head coach
Alex Denning and his team are now two points shy of the second-place spot and three points behind first place Dallas Baptist in the conference standings.

Erika Aviles' goal in the fourth minute marks the second time this season that the Lady Chaparrals have scored a goal within the first five minutes of a contest. Both instances came in matches against Texas A&M International.

Lubbock Christian will now look ahead to a Heartland Conference bout against St. Mary's University Saturday afternoon. Kickoff is scheduled for 2:30 p.m. Oct. 14 at LCU Soccer Field. Denning's squad stands 3-3-2 all time against the Rattlers with five of their eight matches going into double overtime. Earlier this season, St. Mary's dealt LCU a 1-0 loss with a goal in the 103
