CHAPS FLIGHT DECK
• Lubbock Christian University will play their final match of the 2017 season Saturday afternoon against Texas – Permian Basin. Kickoff is set for 12 p.m. at LCU Soccer Field.
• LCU is looking to end their season on a high note after falling 2-0 Thursday night to Eastern New Mexico University in Portales, N.M.
• The Chaps have posted a .500 record when playing at home this season with a 4-4-0 record.
STORY LINES
• Saturday's contest will serve as senior day for the Chaparrals, as seven players will be recognized for their careers at LCU.
• The Chaps have been held scoreless in their past three matches, leading to a three-game losing streak, all of which have been on the road.
• The contest against the Falcons will serve as the third consecutive conference season finale against Texas – Permian Basin.
• LCU has recorded 14 goals in 17 matches this season. Of those 14 goals, 11 have been scored on LCU Soccer Field.
SCOUTING UTPB
• Despite losing their prior match to West Texas A&M 1-0 Thursday night, UTPB has managed to win five of their past six contests.
• Brandon Lee leads the UTPB roster with 28 points on 12 goals and four assists. He ranks tied for first in the Heartland Conference for goals scored in the 2017 campaign.
• UTPB has tallied 30 goals on the season as a team for a 1.88 goals per game average. The Texas – Permian Basin defense has allowed 33 goals in total.
• UTPB has nabbed a 3-3-0 record this season on the road.
• Alec Sproule has played and started in 11 contests this season, recording 65 saves and a .793 save percentage. Sproule has produced four shutouts for a 7-4-0 record.
SERIES HISTORY WITH UTPB
Saturday's match will mark the 10
th all-time in a rivalry that dates back to 2013. The Chaps own a 6-2-1 overall record against the Falcons and a 2-1-1 mark in the series when playing at LCU Soccer Field. The two teams met earlier this season (Oct. 21), with UTPB handing the Chaparrals a 1-0 loss in Odessa, Texas.
