Jaime Bustamante and Tony Reyes each had the sac-flies in the three-run second inning and LCU led 4-0. They made it 5-0 in the fifth inning with Chase Simmons following a Koedyker double with a ground-out RBI.

The Eagles put their first run across in the bottom of the fifth inning. Lane Paul hit a two-out single to right field to score Garrett Wages, but Hayden Strobel was thrown out at home plate by Brandon Urquizo to prevent any further damage in the inning.
