Errors Plague Lady Chaps Against Tarleton

STEPHENVILLE, Texas (March 7, 2017) – Four errors on the day by the No. 22 Lubbock Christian University Lady Chaps led to a 1-0 loss and a 3-2 loss to Tarleton State at the TSU Softball Complex in Stephenville, Texas on Tuesday.

ONE
In game one the Lady Chaps (16-6) managed only one hit to go along with one error getting blanked by the TexAnns (16-10) who managed to push across a run in the third inning. Katera Eltsosie (8-2) went the distance in the circle for LCU allowing only four hits and striking out four to suffer her second loss of the season. For TSU Haley Freyman (9-4) pitched all seven innings only allowing one hit on way to her ninth victory of the year.

TWO
In the second game Lubbock Christian scored two runs in the game with the first coming in the fourth inning when Sydney Beuthien drove in Courtney Medina to tie the game at 1-1. In the fifth inning LCU would take the 2-1 lead when Medina singled to left field to bring home Averi Miller. However, in the sixth inning a Lady Chap error helped the TexAnns plate two more runs to take the lead back. Monique Garcia (6-4) pitched the whole game allowing three runs off eight hits while striking out three for her fourth loss this season. Jordan Withrow started in the circle for TSU going five innings giving up two runs on three hits before giving way to Kayleigh Wiliams who pitched the sixth inning and Freyman (3) who came in to pitch the seventh and earn her third save of the year.
