Lady Chaps Swept in Pair of One Run Games

OKLAHOMA CITY, Okla. (April 7, 2017) – The Lubbock Christian University Lady Chaparrals fell twice on Friday 2-1 and 3-2 to the Lady Eagles of Oklahoma Christian at Tom Heath Field on the OC campus.
 
BEHIND
The Lady Chaps (23-14) found themselves behind early as Oklahoma Christian (26-16) scored a run in the first inning when Bridget White drove in Sheridan Bond and another in the second inning when Lacey Davidson scored on a sacrifice fly off the bat of Kaylie Upton to take a 2-0 lead. LCU's lone run would come in the fifth inning when Casey Ingram drove in Annika Schwartzenberg.
 
IN THE CIRCLE
Katera Eltsosie (12-5) started in the circle for LCU and went the distance two runs off five hits while striking out three to suffer her fifth loss of the season. Madison Hagood (12-7) got the start and also went the distance for OC giving up only one run off six hits striking out four Lady Chaps to notch her 12th win of the year.
 
ERROR
Two errors in the fourth inning led to a run for the Lady Eagles before they plated two more runs in the sixth when Kayla Eichler knocked in Madison Nordyke and Kenysha Noland to put OC up 3-0. Sydney Beuthien hit a two-run home run in the seventh for LCU's only runs.
 
MASTERFUL
Nordyke (5-5) started in the circle going 6.1 innings for the Lady Eagles allowing only two hits by the Lady Chaps striking out three on her way to her fifth victory this year. Hagood (4) came in to pitch the final two outs facing the minimum to record her fourth save of the season. Katlyn Holmes (4-3) pitched the whole game for LCU allowing only one earned run off of six hits striking out six Lady Eagles along the way to suffer just her third loss of 2017.
