LCU HIGHLIGHTS
• Lubbock Christian University Lady Chaps were able to claim their first win of the season and on home soil with a 4-0 win over University of Texas – Permian Basin.
• The Lady Chaps converted three goals in the first half all within five minutes of each other. Senior
Kate O'Gara struck first with a header past the UTPB keeper. Sophomore
Hollie Windham connected three minutes later.
Audra Park then netted a volley from 12 yards out to close out LCU's first half offensive onslaught. Senior
Brittany Guthrie recorded the Lady Chaps final goal with 12 seconds left in regulation.
• Freshman
Allison Scott dished out two assists on the day in her LCU debut.
HOW IT HAPPENED
• LCU wasted no time pressuring the Falcon defense and scored just 15 minutes into the contest.

Kate O'Gara struck first with a goal at the 15:28 mark (16
th minute) for her ninth career goal. Sophomore
Hollie Windham, who is coming off a seven-goal freshman campaign, tallied a goal just under three minutes later at the 18:23 mark (19
th minute).
Audra Park struck at the 19:54 mark (20
th minute) to help put the game out of reach from the Falcons.
• Senior
Brittany Guthrie floated a header over the UTPB keeper in the 90
th minute to finish the day for LCU. The marker was her third career goal (39 career games).
GAME NOTES
• Freshman
Hannah Wise posted the first clean sheet of her young Lubbock Christian career. The shutout was the 39
th in program history and the fourth all-time in season openers.
• Wise's performance was the fourth shutout in a home opener in program history.
• The Lady Chaparrals are now 7-0-1 all-time in season openers. Six of those wins have come under head coach
Alex Denning's tenure.
• The 4-0 win improves to a 5-2-1 series record over the Falcons. The LCU women have outscored opponents 33-5 in home openers since the inaugural season in 2010.
• The win moves Lubbock Christian to a 33-15-8 all-time home record and 29-7-6 at home under Denning.
• LCU's four goals gave the Lady Chaps their largest victory since a 5-0 win over Texas A&M International in Laredo, Texas (Oct. 13, 2016).
INSIDE THE NUMBERS
5: LCU's four goals marks the fifth time since joining NCAA Div. II ranks that the Lady Chaps have scored four or more goals in a contest all coming from different players.
UP NEXT
Lubbock Christian, now 1-0-0 on the season, will head out of state for a bout against Colorado State University – Pueblo in Pueblo, Colo. The match will take place at CSU's Rawling's Sports Complex Saturday at 3 p.m (central). This will be the first meeting ever between the squads.
