- Defense was a point of emphasis for Lubbock Christian University Saturday afternoon as the Chaparrals outlasted the Hillcats on the way to a 1-0 victory.
- Braxton Thorne walked away with his sixth shutout of the season while converting seven saves against Rogers State.
- Saturday's match closed out the home portion of the Chap schedule. LCU will finish the season with a 4-2-2 mark at home. 
 
HOW IT HAPPENED
- In the 56^thminute, Conner Dean stepped up with an in-swinging corner kick that found the head of Ivan Muanze-Bengono. Muanze-Bengono climbed high to redirect the ball past the RSU defense for the first goal of his Lubbock Christian career.  

GAME NOTES
- Inclement weather leading up to the match forced LCU head coach Paul Gilbert to relocate to Texas Tech University's John Walker Soccer Complex.
- Lubbock Christian improves to a 5-2-3 Heartland Conference record and a 7-3-3 overall record.
- Although a win helped boost the Chaps in conference standings, it was also special for LCU's five seniors who were honored for senior day.

UP NEXT
LCU will now hit the road for a four-game road trip to close out their season. The Chaps will stop first in Laredo, Texas for a meeting against Texas A&M International Thursday, Oct. 18. Kickoff against the Dustdevils is slated for 7 p.m. at Dustdevil Soccer Field.
