Lady Chaps Provide Cannon Fire Against Patriots

LCU HIGHLIGHTS
- Lubbock Christian University increased their win streak to four after taking down Dallas Baptist 3-1 Thursday afternoon at Frenship H.S. Soccer Stadium.
- Freshman Tory Hudgens made her first collegiate start in the net for the Lady Chaparrals converting six saves.
- Once again, Makenna Pate provided the pace for the Lubbock Christian offense registering five shots, three on frame, and one goal.
- All three of Lubbock Christian's goals were completed by different players.
 
HOW IT HAPPENED
- Delaney Schmidt put the Patriots up early with a finish from inside the 18-yard box in the 15thminute. Schmidt's opportunity was created on a through-ball from Abigail Olmos.
- Tegan Wilson brought the Lady Chaparrals level just before halftime with a blast in the 43rdminute. Wilson's goal marked the first of her LCU career. She was assisted on the play by Victoria Ramirez.
- Haley Knesek provided the game-winner in the second period from inside the box. Dallas Sanders served up the assist for Knesek to find the net. 
- Pate came up with the statement play in the 80thminute taking a pass from Knesek and carving her way through the DBU defense before unleashing a rocket from the 25-yard range.

GAME NOTES
- Lubbock Christian's win Thursday afternoon marked their first ever victory over Dallas Baptist.
- St. Mary's provided some assistance for the Lady Chaps Thursday evening defeating Newman University 1-0. With the Jets loss, Lubbock Christian moves up in the standings and is now tied with Newman for the third-place spot. 
- The Lady Chaparrals improve to an 8-7-0 overall record and a 7-4-0 mark in Heartland play.
 
INSIDE THE NUMBERS
5: With the 3-1 victory, Lubbock Christian has now registered five multi-goal wins this season. 

UP NEXT
LCU will remain at home and gear up for a meeting against conference leader St. Edward's University Saturday, Oct. 20. Additionally, the match will also serve as senior day for the Lady Chaparrals where Katie Pullano will be honored for her four-year career with Lubbock Christian. Kickoff against the Hilltoppers is scheduled for 1 p.m. at LCU Soccer Field.
