Chaps Playing Their First Heartland Conference Tournament Match Tuesday

CHAPS FLIGHT DECK
- LCU makes their Heartland Conference Tournament debut Tuesday night on the road at St. Mary's University in San Antonio, Texas. Kickoff is slated for 7 p.m. at the Rattlers Sigma Beta Chi Field.
- The match against the Rattlers will mark the 10th away game of the season for Lubbock Christian. LCU is 4-4-1 on the road this season. 
- The winner of the game will advance to face No.2-Seed West Texas A&M Friday at 4:30 p.m. in Wichita Falls, Texas.

STORY LINES
- Lubbock Christian ranks second in the Heartland Conference and 32nd nationally in save percentage with a mark of .792 on the season. A vital statistic, as LCU has been out-shot in eight of their last nine games played.
- LCU is playing in their first Heartland Conference Tournament game in program history. The Chaps are 2-2-0 all-time in conference tournament contests, with the prior four played in the Sooner Athletic Conference. Nov. 3, 2012 marked LCU's last tournament contest (3-0 loss at Wayland Baptist).
- LCU ranks second in the Heartland Conference in fewest yellow cards with 22 on the season.
- Braxton Thorne ranks second in the Heartland Conference in shutouts (6, tied for 23rd nationally), but he leads the conference in goalie minutes played (1618:01, sixth nationally) and is 30th nationally in save percentage with a mark that is second in the Heartland Conference (.792).
- Emilio Marti is coming off his first multi-goal game of the season. He had a season-high five-point performance in a 4-3 loss Saturday at Texas Permian Basin Saturday

SCOUTING StMU
- St. Mary's enters the contest ranked sixth in the South Central Region rankings produced by the NCAA. They are 10-4-3 overall and went 8-4-2 in conference. StMU is 6-1-1 at home and are winners of their last three home matches.
- Pato Botello Faz is listed sixth in the nation with six game-winning goals.
- Faz has proven himself an integral part of the Rattler attack leading the squad with 17 goals and six assists for 40 points.
- Gerard Roebuck has captured 12 starting appearances while posting a 6-4-2 record and a .672 save percentage.
- St. Mary's lost 1-0 Saturday at Newman, marking their first shutout loss of the season. The Rattlers have been involved in three consecutive one-goal decision results.

SERIES HISTORY WITH StMU
Lubbock Christian holds a 4-3-0 record when playing against St. Mary's. The all-time series between the squads stretches back to the 2011 season where the Chaps pulled off a dominant 6-1 victory on the road. The two squads last met in San Antonio on Oct. 20, with LCU falling 2-1. The Rattlers had two second half goals before LCU received a penalty kick goal in the 90th minute by Fernando Flores.
