Chaps Host Falcons In Divisional Battle

CHAPS FLIGHT DECK
- Lubbock Christian University will look to continue their success Saturday afternoon as they host University of Texas – Permian Basin. The Chaparrals will kick off against the Falcons at 1 p.m. on LCU Soccer Field.
- Lubbock Christian is coming off of their first win over a ranked opponent during the Paul Gilbert era after downing No. 23 West Texas A&M University 2-1 Thursday evening on the road.
- LCU has outscored their opposition 8-5 when playing at home this season.

STORY LINES
- Heading into the back half of their conference schedule, the Chaps currently sit in sixth place among Heartland Conference overall standings with 11 points.
- Lubbock Christian stands 2-2-1 when playing at home this season.
- With multiple attacking threats, the Chaps have proven that they have the ability to find the net from all over the field. Their 19 goals have come from nine different players.
- Freshman goalkeeper Braxton Thorne has played a large role in the Chaparral defensive efforts throughout the season. Thorne has two shutouts and a .800 save percentage when playing at home.

SCOUTING UTPB
- Texas – Permian Basin's lone win this season came in a non-conference contest against Adams State University. Since then, the Falcons have found themselves on an eight-game losing streak.
- UTPB's offense has found the net a total of 12 times throughout the season for a 1.09 goals per game average.
- The Falcon defense, however, has struggled to stop opponents and allowed 28 goals on the year.
- Santi Morales and Oscar Canela have each recorded four goals to lead the Texas – Permian Basin squad.
- There has been a mix of three goalkeepers for the Falcons this season, but Jordan Brown has been the constant. Brown has logged five starts on six appearance while posting a .732 save percentage.
 
SERIES HISTORY WITH UTPB
The two squads have not met since the conclusion of the 2017 season where Texas – Permian Basin walked away with a 3-2 double overtime victory over the Chaparrals. With that being said, Lubbock Christian holds a 6-3-1 record all-time against the Falcons in a series that stretches back to the 2013 season.
