Highlights
Lubbock Christian University closed out the regular season with a 3-0 straight-set victory over Newman Saturday inside Rip Griffin Center. The Lady Chaps closed out their regular season record at 21-8 behind a 14-kill performance from
Hannah Thomas. She also had a .522 attack mark in the match. Zoller also assisted in the Lady Chaps winning efforts with 13 kills. Freshman setter
Bradi Marshall provided 39 assists for a pace of 13 per set. Yemima Buana tried to carry the Jets, producing 12 kills in the loss.
How It Happened
Set One:
LCU never trailed in the opening set. They jumped out to an 8-3 lead and closed the set on a 7-2 run for a 25-17 set win.
Bradi Marshall produced 17 assists during the set, as she assisted on all 17 LCU kills.
Lauren Zoller had six of the kills by LCU, who hit .289 in the set.
Set Two:
The Lady Chaps trailed 10-6 in the second set before a 9-2 run provided them a 15-8 lead. NU committed six errors during the 9-2 run. Similiar to the ending run in the first set, LCU closed the second set on a 7-3 run.
Hannah Thomas led LCU with five kills in the set. NU also had five kills in the set by Yemima Buana.
Set Three:
The third set was tightly played and Newman led 14-12 before LCU went on a 7-2 run with a pair of kills from Karley David-McElroy and Thomas in the span. Nine of the final 11 poins in the match were off the result of kills. LCU closed the set on a 13-4 run. Thomas continued her offensive match with six LCU kills in the final frame.

21-8 – LCU completed their regular season record at 21-8, with a conference mark of 10-2. The 21 wins is the most since they had 23 in 2012 and it is the ninth time LCU has hit the 20-win mark under head coach

10 – LCU's win is their 10
th all-time win in the head-to-head series and LCU leads the series 10-5. The meeting was their final Heartland Conference meeting and meeting as conference foes, as next season, LCU will be members of the Lone Star Conference and Newman heads to the MIAA.
.020 – Newman had a .100 attack percentage, with Yemima Buana recording 12 kills and a .476 attack mark. The rest of the team combined for a .020 attack mark.

Hannah Thomas' 14 kills was a career high and the second match in her career in which she hit double figures in kills. The mark matches as the fifth highest kill total in a three-set match this season.
.522 – Thomas's kill percentage of .522 is the highest of her career and it is the second highest qualifying mark by a Lady Chap this season behind a .700 mark by
Jaiden Kennedy on Oct. 13.

Lauren Zoller had 13 kills, marking the fourth straight game she has had at least 10 kills in a match. It is her longest sequence since she went six straight matches in double figures in August.
