Lady Chaps Fall In Conference Opener

LCU HIGHLIGHTS
- Lubbock Christian University opened up their Heartland Conference slate Thursday afternoon falling to Rogers State University in a 1-0 result.
- The Lady Chaparrals tested the RSU defense tallying 12 shots for the afternoon and three shots on goal.
- Freshman forward Makenna Pate was responsible for five Lady Chap shot attempts with one landing on target.
- LCU goalkeeper Hannah Wise converted four saves over the course of the 90-minute effort.
 
HOW IT HAPPENED
- Rogers State forward Hannah Mushisky converted for the Hillcats after bringing the ball by the LCU defense for an unassisted finish just outside of the six-yard box.

GAME NOTES
- The loss drops the Lady Chaparrals to a 1-4-0 overall record and a 0-1-0 record in conference play.
- Lubbock Christian now holds a 5-1 all-time record in Heartland Conference openers.
- With the shots at 12 for each team, Thursday's match marks the second of the season in which the Lady Chaps did not outshoot their opponent.
 
INSIDE THE NUMBERS
12: After providing 12 shots against the Hillcats, LCU's offense has now recorded 10 or more shots in four of their five contests.

UP NEXT
LCU will now look ahead toward Saturday as they host the Jets of Newman University in another Heartland Conference tilt. Kickoff against the Jets is slated for noon at LCU Soccer Field.
