Chaps Set To Close Out Opening Road Trip

LUBBOCK CHRISTIAN UNIVERSITY at COLORADO CHRISTIAN UNIVERSITY

CHAPS FLIGHT DECK
• Lubbock Christian University moves their road trip to Lakewood, Colo. Sunday afternoon for a bout against Colorado Christian University. Kickoff will take place at 2 p.m. inside Trailblazer Stadium.
• After a tough overtime loss to University of Colorado – Colorado Springs Friday night, the Chaparrals will be looking right the ships in their first road trip of the season.
• Sunday's contest against CCU will close out a two-game road stint for the Chaps.

STORY LINES
• Lubbock Christian's defense is coming off a performance Friday night where they were forced to play a man down for a majority of the game. Despite the disadvantage, the Chaps were able to limit UCCS to six shots on target.
Braxton Thorne holds a .667 save percentage after coming up with four saves against the Mountain Lions.
Louis Callaghan's goal ended a two-year scoring drought, for Lubbock Christian, in season-openers. The Manchester, England native now has four goals to his name since stepping onto the LCU campus last season.

SCOUTING CCU
• Colorado Christian will officially open up their season against the Chaps Sunday afternoon.
• The Cougars concluded their 2017 campaign with a 1-14-3 overall record and a 1-11-2 mark in conference play.
• CCU converted 13 goals last season while allowing a combined 40 goals from opponents.
• The 2014 season marks the last time that Colorado Christian won a season-opener, a 1-0 victory over Dallas Christian College.
• CCU will look to employ 13 newcomers to their 2018 roster, eight of which step onto the field as freshmen.
 
SERIES HISTORY WITH CCU
Lubbock Christian holds a 1-0 record over Colorado Christian as the squads met during the 2015 season. In that matchup, the Chaps came up huge with a 5-1 victory (Sept. 11, 2015).
