Chaps Set to Host Nationally Ranked Mustangs

CHAPS FLIGHT DECK
- Lubbock Christian University will look to regain their footing Saturday afternoon as they take on Midwestern State University at LCU Soccer Field in a 2:30 p.m. start time.
- Though they were blanked in their last outing, the LCU men have still managed to outscore their opponents by a 16-4 margin throughout the beginning of the season.
- Braxton Thorne's .875 save percentage currently leads the Heartland Conference.

STORY LINES
- The Chaparrals will be looking to respond after suffering their first loss in Heartland Conference play Thursday afternoon to Oklahoma Christian.
- With Midwestern State entering the day as the No. 4 ranked team, the contest will mark the first nationally ranked opponent of the season for the Chaparrals.
- The Chaps currently reside in fifth place overall in the latest HC standings. 
- Lubbock Christian's defense stands ninth in the nation limiting opponents to a .471 goals against average.

SCOUTING MSU-TEXAS
- Midwestern State has boasted a high-powered offense to begin the season registering 21 goals across nine games.
- The Mustang's pressure in the final third has led to 8.25 corner kicks per contest, a mark that ranks second in the nation.
- Following the retirement of Doug Elder prior to the season, MSU Texas is being led by interim head coach Michael Meachum.
- Gui Leme leads the Mustang roster with five goals on two starts and eight appearances.
- Taylor Lampe has played every minute in the net for Midwestern State while capturing three shutouts and a .737 save percentage.
 
SERIES HISTORY WITH MSU-TEXAS
The two teams have met four times in the all-time rivalry where Midwestern State holds a 2-0-2 advantage over the Chaps. In their latest meeting, LCU went on the road and took the Mustangs to a 1-1 after 110 minutes of play.
