HOW IT HAPPENED
- Offense was slow for both teams in the opening half, but LCU did get three shots on goal from Fernando Flores (18'), Richie Vaca-Cordova (32') and Emilio Marti (45')
- Flores had another shot on goal in the 52nd minute, but LCU finally found the back of the net with a goal from Marti in the 61st minute. Hector Rodriguez-Cabo assisted on the score
- The Chaps doubled up just six minutes later, as Tariq Bakkali found the back of the net
- DBU finally put a shot on goal and got it past the LCU keeper in the 82nd minute, cutting the deficit back to just one goal
- With only 38 seconds left in regulation, Dallas Baptist scored again, this time on a goal from Jonathan Macias, tying the game and forcing overtime
- LCU got the only offensive chance of the first overtime, as Agustine Contreras Orsi, but Patriot goalkeeper Olvera Tristian made the save
- In the second overtime it was Lubbock Christian's turn for the dramatics, as Rodriguez-Cabo scored the game-winning goal with just three minutes remaining in the game
LCU HIGHLIGHTS
- Seven different Chaps tallied shots on goal during the game, led by Flores and Marti who had two apiece
- The Chap defense allowed just two shots on goal, which matched their fewest allowed by an opponent this season. They also only allowed two shots on goal in the 9/8 win over Colorado Christian
- Lubbock Christian fired 13 total shots in the game, which was their most since the September 26th win over UT Permian Basin
- Emilio Marti's goal was his second of the season, making him the fifth Chap this season with multiple goals
- LCU scored multiple goals in the win, marking the eight time this season they have done so
CHAPARRAL NOTES
- Rodriguez-Cabo's goal was his first-ever at a Chap and he became the seventh different LCU player to score this season
- Saturday's game was LCU's third straight to go into overtime after not previously playing an overtime game all season. They are 2-0-1 in overtime games this year
- Bakkali's goal was his fourth of the 2019 season=, but his first since the September 14th win over Oklahoma Baptist
- The Chaps are now 5-0 in games in which they score first and 3-0 in games played on Saturday
