HOW IT HAPPENED
  • Offense was slow for both teams in the opening half, but LCU did get three shots on goal from Fernando Flores (18'), Richie Vaca-Cordova (32') and Emilio Marti (45')
  • Flores had another shot on goal in the 52nd minute, but LCU finally found the back of the net with a goal from Marti in the 61st minute. Hector Rodriguez-Cabo assisted on the score
  • The Chaps doubled up just six minutes later, as Tariq Bakkali found the back of the net
  • DBU finally put a shot on goal and got it past the LCU keeper in the 82nd minute, cutting the deficit back to just one goal
  • With only 38 seconds left in regulation, Dallas Baptist scored again, this time on a goal from Jonathan Macias, tying the game and forcing overtime
  • LCU got the only offensive chance of the first overtime, as Agustine Contreras Orsi, but Patriot goalkeeper Olvera Tristian made the save
  • In the second overtime it was Lubbock Christian's turn for the dramatics, as Rodriguez-Cabo scored the game-winning goal with just three minutes remaining in the game

LCU HIGHLIGHTS
  • Seven different Chaps tallied shots on goal during the game, led by Flores and Marti who had two apiece
  • The Chap defense allowed just two shots on goal, which matched their fewest allowed by an opponent this season. They also only allowed two shots on goal in the 9/8 win over Colorado Christian

  • Bakkali's goal was his fourth of the 2019 season=, but his first since the September 14th win over Oklahoma Baptist
