HOW IT HAPPENED
  • Lubbock Christian got on the board early once again, as Haley Knesek scored an unassisted goal in the 11th minute of the game
  • MSU tried to respond quickly, putting two shots on goal in the next two minutes, but LCU goalkeeper Hannah Wise saved them both
  • Shots by Maddie Hoel and Allison Scott missed as the Lady Chaps tried to double their lead before the Mustangs evened things up with a goal from Imani Morlock in the 24th minute
  • Hollie Windham and Celia Duarte put shots on goal in the 29th and 31st minutes, but neither team was able to score again before the half
  • Duarte put another two shots on goal in the first 10 minutes of the second half, but they were both saved
  • Hoel was finally able to regain the Lubbock Christian lead with a goal in the 74th minute. Celia Duarte assisted on the goal
  • Wise made saves in the 76th and 84th minutes, and another two Mustang shots were blocked as the LCU defense closed out the win

LCU HIGHLIGHTS
  • The Lady Chaps out-shot the Mustangs 18-11 in the game, marking the 10th different time this season they have tallied more shots than their opponent
  • Knesek's goal in the game was her eighth this year, moving her back into the team and conference lead in that category
  • Hoel's goal was her third overall and second game-winner of the season. The former Frenship Tiger has nine total points
  • Duarte's assist on the game-winner was her seventh of the season. She leads the team and ranks second in the Lone Star Conference in that category
  • Wise made five saves in the win and now has a .769 save percentage on 112 shots faced this year

LADY CHAP NOTES
  • Knesek's goal in the 11th minute marked the 12th time this season that LCU has scored a goal in the first 15 minutes of a game
  • Lubbock Christian is now 9-1 in games where they score first
  • Thursday's meeting was just the second-ever between LCU and MSU and was the first ever Lady Chap win in the all-time series
  • Knesek upped her point total to 21 with the goal, remaining in the LSC lead. The closest player behind her is teammate Duarte with 19, but the closest non-LCU player is Texas A&M-Commerce's Leslie Campuzano with 17
  • LCU's six shots on goal were their lowest total in a win since they had five in the 2-1 victory over Texas Woman's on October 3
  • With another four games remaining on the schedule, Lubbock Christian has already matched their win total from a season ago

NEXT UP
  • The Lady Chaps will play their final road contest of the season next, taking on Oklahoma Christian at noon on Saturday in Oklahoma City
