THE BASICS
Score: Lubbock Christian 3, Oklahoma Christian 0
Records: LCU – 10-4-1, 7-2-1 // OC - 2-12-0, 2-7-0
Location: Wantland Stadium – Edmond, Oklahoma

HOW IT HAPPENED
  • The Lady Chaps struck early, as they have made a habit of doing, with Celia Duarte assisting an Allison Scott goal in the 13th minute
  • LCU missed with several more shots in the next ten minutes and earned a pair of corners as well, but was unable to double the lead
  • OC's only shot in the first half came in the 28th minute from Denise Bennett, but missed the goal wide right
  • Madison Mayben put a shot on goal in the 41st minute, but Eagle keeper Gabby Goddard made the save
  • Lubbock Christian added its second goal just seven minutes into the second half, with Scott assisting this time on a score from Haley Knesek
  • Hollie Windham, Maddie Hoel and Shadiana Haney all put shots on goal in the second half as well, but Goddard kept them out of the back of the net
  • Knesek tallied the final score of the game in the 89th minute to help the Lady Chaps secure the win

LCU HIGHLIGHTS
  • Knesek had multiple goals in a single game for the third time this season and brought her 2019 total to 10
  • Lubbock Christian's defense did not allow a shot on goal in a game for the second time this season. They also gave up zero shots on goal in the September 22 win over UT Permian Basin
  • Duarte's assist on the Scott goal was her eighth of the season, which puts her just one behind Angelo State's Avery McNeme for the Lone Star Conference lead in that category
  • Saturday's was the last game on the road of the season for the Lady Chaps and a win made them 5-3-1 in road contests this year. It is the first winning road record for LCU since 2014 when they were 6-4 in games away from home
  • Scott's goal in the 13th minute was her eighth of the year, which is the second-most in the Lone Star Conference. It was also her third game-winner in 2019

LADY CHAP NOTES
  • Lubbock Christian has now earned six conference points in back-to-back weekends and sits in a tie for third with Angelo State in the LSC standings
  • Knesek now has 10 goals this season, which is the most by a Lady Chap player since she herself scored 11 as a freshman in 2016. She has also now recorded two of the eight double-digit goal seasons by a player in LCU program history
  • Scott's goal marked the 13th time this season that Lubbock Christian has scored in the first 15 minutes of a game, and they are now 10-1 when that happens
  • LCU has now out-shot its opponent in four straight games and 11 times during this season overall

NEXT UP
The Lady Chaps will play just one game next weekend, taking on UT Permian on November 2. It will be Senior Day for Lubbock Christian, with the ceremony honoring the players beginning at 1:45 p.m. before the match starts at 2 p.m.
