HOW IT HAPPENED
- LCU created two quick scoring chances in the first ten minutes with shots on goal by Adrienne Almodova and Allison Scott. Scott's was just barely tipped by UTPB Marlise Bond and cleared off the line
- Scott had another shot on goal saved in the 30th minute, and Maddie Hoel put a shot on goal as well in the 33rd minute, but both were saved and the two teams went into halftime still scoreless
- The Lady Chaps finally broke the tie just two minutes into the second half. Hayden Burdsal had a throw-in deep in LCU's offensive zone, Scott flicked it on goal with her head and the ball bounced into the back of the net for a 1-0 lead
- The score doubled just four minutes later, as Haley Knesek was fouled in the box and converted the penalty kick herself
- Lubbock Christian's last goal came off another Burdsal throw-in in the 76th minute. Scott flicked into the box again, Carmen Herndon touched the ball past a UTPB defender and Hollie Windham fired into the back of the net
- Almodova created one more scoring chance for LCU, but it was saved and the game ended at 3-0
