HOW IT HAPPENED
  • LCU once again jumped out in front with a goal in the first 15 minutes, as freshman Maddie Hoel scored at the 13:55 mark. The goal was assisted by the Lady Chap point leaders Allison Scott and Haley Knesek
  • WT tried to equalize quickly, putting a shot on goal in the 18th minute, but LCU goalkeeper Hannah Wise made the save
  • The Lady Chaps ratcheted up the offense, putting eight shots on goal in a span of four minutes around the 29th minute, including a pair of shots on goal by Scott that were saved
  • Khaline Jacob evened up the score with a goal in the 33rd minute for the Lady Buffs
  • The Lady Buffs took their first lead of the game seven minutes into the second half on a goal from Hannah Kelley-Lusk
  • Lubbock Christian equalized quickly, getting a goal in the 59th minute from Allison Scott. Stephanie Renteria assisted the score
  • Both the Lady Chaps and Lady Buffs put three shots apiece in the final five minutes of regulation, but the game went to overtime
  • West Texas A&M put two shots on goal in the first overtime, but they were saved by Wise
  • Hailey Phipps came through with the game-winning golden goal with just a minute and a half before the end of the game, leading the Lady Chaps to their 12th win this seasons

LCU HIGHLIGHTS
  • Haley Knesek did not score a goal in the win but did have an assist, keeping her in the LSC lead with 28 points this season
  • Allison Scott had a goal and an assist, recording her third straight three-point game and her 26th point overall
  • LCU's 12 wins this season match a program record that was set in 2012 when the Lady Chaps were 12-5-2 in their first year under head coach Alex Denning
  • Maddie Hoel's goal was her fourth of the season and brought her to 11 points. She is the fifth LCU player to reach the double-digit point mark

LADY CHAP NOTES
  • LCU has now won six straight games for the second time this season after also posting a six-game win streak from September 14 to October 3. A win on Saturday would push the current streak to seven games, which would be the longest win streak since 2012 when the Lady Chaps opened the season with 12 straight wins
  • Lubbock Christian was out-shot 27-25 in the game, marking the first time this season that they have won when recording fewer shots than their opponent
  • Seven wins at home match the Lubbock Christian program record, which was set in 2015 when LCU posted a 7-0-2 record on their own field
  • The Lady Chaps scored at least two goals in a game for the 11th time this season, and they are 11-0 in those contests. They are now averaging 2.53 goals per game this year, which is the second-best mark in the LSC
  • Hoel's game-opening goal was the 14th of the season for Lubbock Christian to come in the first 15 minutes of a match. They are now 12-1 when scoring first this year
  • Lubbock Christian got their first-ever win over West Texas A&M on Thursday, previously holding an 0-2 record against the Lady Buffs

NEXT UP
  • LCU will try and set a new program record for wins in a single season as they wrap up the regular season against Eastern New Mexico at 2 p.m. on Saturday afternoon at the LCU Soccer Field
