HOW IT HAPPENED
- Both offenses started off slowly with no shots in the first 20 minutes, but Midwestern State broke the scoreless tie with a goal in the25th minute
- LCU evened up the score in the 35th minute, with Pablo Galietero Diez taking a through ball from Tariq Bakkali and burying it in the back of the net
- MSU got back on top five minutes into the second half and added another two goals in the 66th and 69th minutes to build a 4-1 lead
- The Chaps pulled one back in the 70th minute, as Fernando Flores put one past the Mustang keeper
- Diez and Tariq Bakkali put a combined three shots on goal in the final 20 minutes, but none found the back of the net as LCU fell to MSU
LCU HIGHLIGHTS
- LCU was the first team this season to score multiple goals against Midwestern State. The only other team to score against them was Colorado State-Pueblo
- Three Chaps took multiple shots during the game, including a team-leading four from Tariq Bakkali off the bench
- Fernando Flores scored his seventh goal of the season in the game and is now tied for the Lone Star Conference lead in that category
- Chap goalkeeper Braxton Thorne made one save in the loss, giving him 22 for the year
- Lubbock Christian limited Midwestern State to just five shots on goal during the game
CHAPARRAL NOTES
- The Chaps lost at home for the first time since last season, when Midwestern State beat them 3-1 on September 18
- LCU allowed four goals in one goal for the first time this season and the first time since a 10/27/18 loss to UT Permian Basin
- Bakkali's assist on Diez's goal was his first of the season and made him the 10th different LCU player to record an assist this year
