HOW IT HAPPENED
- Scoring chances were hard to come by for both teams early, but the Lady Chaps earned back-to-back corner kicks about 30 minutes into the match, allowing for a shot from Celia Duarte that missed just to the right
- Abigail Olmos broke the scoreless tie in the 36th minute, scoring with an assist from Margaret Torres to put the Patriots up 1-0
- A shot by LCU's Maddie Hoel just missed in the 37th minute, but Dallas Baptist countered and got a goal from Alondra Olmos
- LCU came out firing in the second half, with shots from Hollie Windham, Victoria Ramirez, Haley Knesek and another from Windham, but all four just missed
- DBU fired shots on goal in the 52nd and 55th minutes, but both were saved by Lady Chap goalkeeper Hannah Wise
- Duarte put a shot on goal in the 76th minute, but it was saved and DBU countered again and scored their third and final goal of the game
- LCU's last chance to get a goal came in the 80th minute, as they got back-to-back shots on goal that were saved by the Patriot goalkeeper
LCU HIGHLIGHTS
- Lubbock Christian actually out-shot Dallas Baptist 13-12 during the game, including 10-7 in the second half
- Celia Duarte led the team with a pair of shots on goal
- LCU earned five corners in the game, while allowing just three from Dallas Baptist. It is the fifth time this season that LCU has earned more corner kicks than an opponent
- Goalkeeper Hannah Wise made a pair of saves in the loss
LADY CHAP NOTES
- The two saves from Wise gave her 119 for her career and moved her into first place all time in that category. She surpassed Lauren Story to take the record
- The Lady Chaps suffered their first Lone Star Conference loss in the game and now sit in fifth place in the league standings with nine games left to go
- DBU recorded just five shots on goal, marking the sixth straight game that LCU has limited an opponent to five or fewer in that category
- Saturday's loss was the Lady Chaps' first on their home field this season, bringing them to 3-1 at the friendly confines this year with three home games left to play
