Taylor Franco pitched a no-hitter in LCU's first road game of the season, and the Lady Chaparrals out-hit University of the Southwest (N.M.) 28-3 on the day to sweep the Mustangs 15-0 and 8-0 Friday afternoon at Baker Field.

Game 1 vs. USW
LCU Highlights:
- Freshman pitcher Taylor Franco, making her fourth collegiate start, recorded her first collegiate no-hitter and it was the program's 17th no-hitter thrown. In 5.0 innings, Franco faced one batter over the minimum, as she had a fielding error leading to the Mustangs lone baserunner. She struck out four batters and did not walk any batters.
- Lindzi Clemmer, Morgan Dufour and KK Lopez-Liu, making her season debut, each went 3-for-4. Clemmer led all Lady Chaps with three runs-batted-in and Dufour had two doubles and a home run (her second of the season).
- K'leigh Arredondo, Alivia Villarreal and Dufour each had two-RBI performances.
- Freshmen Lauren Singletary and Christiana Saenz recorded their first collegiate hits.
Turning Point:
A seven-run third inning, filled with five hits helped LCU pull away. The inning started off with a double by Dufour and included a pair of two-run singles (Clemmer and Villarreal).
How it Happened:
- Savannah Wysocki led off the game with a bunt single and then stole second base and third base, leading to her scoring on a sacrifice fly by Arredondo for a 1-0 lead in the second.
- Dufour led off the second inning with a double into the left field corner. She advanced to third base on a wild pitch and scored on a single by Lopez-Liu. Clemmer's first of three two-out RBI came in the second inning with a single for a 3-0 lead.
- All seven runs during the third inning came with two outs, as LCU sent eight batters to the plate with two outs. Villarreal's two-run single through the left side capped the seven-run inning and LCU led 10-0.
- The Lady Chaps grabbed insurance in the fifth inning, with a five-run inning highlighted by four extra-base hits. Clemmer hit a one-out triple and Arredondo and Schwartzenberg followed with doubles to set up Dufour's two-run home run over the left field fence.
Inside the Numbers:
- Dufour's home run (second of the season) marked her 18th of her LCU career and 46th of her Heartland Conference career. She ranks second all-time on the Heartland Conference's career home run list.
- Franco's no-hitter was LCU's first no-hitter since Monique Francois dealt one last season (Feb. 20, 2018) against St. Edward's. The no-hitter marked LCU's fifth no-hitter in program history against USW. Franco (3-1) has not allowed a run in the last 10.1 innings pitched.
- LCU had at least one hit from 12 different players and at least one RBI produced from nine different players. They also had 11 different players producing at least one hit with runner(s) on base (LCU was 13-for-24, .541 with runners on base).
- The Lady Chaps had seven two-out-RBI produced, with Clemmer producing three.
- The game marked the sixth game of the season in which LCU scored at least 10 runs. The 19 hits tied a season-high.

Game 2 vs. USW
LCU Highlights:
- Alivia Villarreal extended her hit streak to 10 games (all games this season) with a 2-for-2 performance at the plate.
- Alexis Reed went 2-for-3 with three RBI and a double.
- Lindzi Clemmer went 2-for-4 with a triple.
- Pitcher Jordan Wehr improved to 3-0 and helped combine for the shutout (with Amber Carlton), as she went 6.0 innings. Facing three batters over the minimum in the 6.0 innings of work, Wehr did not allow a hit for the first 2.1 innings.
Turning Point:
The Lady Chaps back-to-back triples (Clemmer and Arredondo) in the first inning set the tone for a three-run inning and helped USW have a fresh start from the 15-0 loss in the prior game.
How it Happened:
- Following the back-to-back triples, Arredondo scored on a wild pitch and Dufour closed the inning's scoring with a sacrifice fly for a 3-0 lead.
- Clemmer hit her fourth two-out RBI of the day in the second inning to help LCU build the lead to 4-0.
- Reed scored a pair in the third inning with a two-run double down the left field line for a 6-0 LCU lead. She followed with an at-bat in the fifth inning with an RBI-single.
- The Lady Chaps closed the scoring on the day in the seventh inning with Lopez-Liu fouling out for a sacrifice fly into left field to score Moriah Garza, who was courtesy running for Villarreal.
Inside the Numbers:
- Adriana Horton had two of USW's three hits in the game, as she was 2-for-2.
- The win improved LCU to 38-0 all-time against USW, as LCU (12-0 in Hobbs) was making their first visit to Hobbs since Mar. 4, 2014.
- LCU had two sacrifice flies in the game. They had three in the combined two games Friday and entered the day with one on the season.
- LCU was 5-for-7 getting the lead-off batter aboard, with Arredondo 2-for-2 completing the task Friday.
- Clemmer combined to go 5-for-8 (.625) on the day with two triples and four RBI. Reed combined to go 4-for-5 (.800) with four RBI.
