Lady Chaps Cancel Oklahoma Trip, But Will Head Southwest

Weekend Weather in Oklahoma Leads to LCU Picking Up Games Against University of the Southwest

LUBBOCK, Texas (February 13, 2019) –Lubbock Christian University softball head coach Daren Hays has made some schedule changes involving this week's schedule of games. With temperatures expected to remain in the 30s in Oklahoma City this weekend, Hays has decided to not attempt playing in five games they had scheduled as part of the Edmond Regional Festival II. Instead, LCU has picked up a doubleheader in Hobbs, N.M. against University of the Southwest, beginning at noon (central) at Baker Field.

LCU was scheduled to play five games in Oklahoma, facing Southwestern Oklahoma State and East Central Friday, Southern Nazarene and Newman Saturday and rounding out with Northwestern Oklahoma State. Those contests will now be canceled.

Below normal temperatures have caused several changes to tournaments this week, which left many head coaches on the phones seeking to revise their weekend plans. Several teams were in contact with Hays, in regards to picking up games in Lubbock, but the final decision rested with LCU traveling to Hobbs, N.M. Friday, as the Mustangs of USW are already scheduled to play in Lubbock on Mar. 22.

New Games:
Feb. 15 – 12:00 p.m. CT – at Southwest (N.M.) – Baker Field (Hobbs, N.M.)
Feb. 15 – 2:00 p.m. CT – at Southwest (N.M.) – Baker Field (Hobbs, N.M.)
