Utility Star Became LCU’s 18th NFCA All-Region Selection After Leading Lady Chaps in Multiple Offensive Categories

LOUISVILLE, Ky. (May 15, 2026) – Lubbock Christian University softball standout Kadin Vire has been named a 2026 NFCA Division II All-South Central Region selection, as announced by the National Fastpitch Coaches Association. Vire earned recognition as the region's Second Team DP/Utility/Non-Pitcher selection.

The honor marks LCU's third consecutive season with at least one NFCA All-Region selection and adds to the program's growing tradition of postseason recognition. The Lady Chaps now own 18 NFCA All-Region selections since becoming eligible for the award in 2014.

Vire, a junior from Waxahachie, Texas, turned in one of the most productive offensive seasons in the Lone Star Conference while starting all 51 games for the Lady Chaps. A First Team All-LSC selection and preseason conference Player to Watch, Vire led LCU in batting average (.399), hits (65), doubles (17), triples (5), total bases (104), slugging percentage (.638), runs scored (42) and multi-hit games (19), while tying for the team lead with 12 multi-RBI performances.

Among Lone Star Conference leaders, Vire ranked eighth in batting average, seventh in hits, fifth in doubles and second in triples. Her 17 doubles were tied for seventh-most in the South Central Region, while her five triples tied for seventh in the region and ranked second in the conference.

Vire proved especially dangerous in clutch situations throughout the season, batting .479 with runners in scoring position and .500 with the bases loaded. She also reached base safely at a .613 clip in leadoff opportunities and finished with a .465 on-base percentage and .638 slugging percentage. Defensively, Vire posted a .988 fielding percentage with just two errors and threw out 11 base runners behind the plate, ranking fourth in the LSC and ninth in the South Central Region.

LCU has now produced NFCA All-Region selections in three straight seasons after totaling a program-record four honorees in 2023. Vire becomes the Lady Chaps' 18th all-region selection overall and the 11th Second Team selection in program history.
